Job description

EIT is seeking a passionate and experienced Automotive Lecturer to join our Trades & Technology team at the Taradale Campus – Napier . This full-time, fixed-term role is vital in delivering high-quality education across motor industry programmes, supporting student learning and well‑being, and contributing to the development of future automotive professionals.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $76,772 to $89,639 , dependent on skills and experience. The Automotive Lecturer is based in our Trades & Technology School , reporting to the Head of School / Assistant Head of School , and will be responsible for :

  • Teaching theory and practical motor industry subjects
  • Supporting student learning and well‑being
  • Participating in assessment and evaluation processes
  • Engaging in professional development
  • Contributing to team and administrative activities

To be successful in this role you will have :

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the motor industry (essential)
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (essential)
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to link theory with practical application
  • Appreciation of cultural diversity and commitment to inclusive education
