• Lead a capable team, setting clear goals and driving performance in a dynamic environment.
• Manage high-volume communications programmes that strengthen our narrative and build trust.
• Take ownership of issues management and crisis communications, providing strategic advice and timely responses.
• Build strong relationships with media and stakeholders, acting as a trusted point of contact.
• Oversee social media strategy and ensure content aligns with organisational goals.
• Deliver high-quality corporate reports and internal communications that engage employees and reinforce purpose.
• Act as Public Information Manager during incident responses.

• Tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, or related discipline.
• 7+ years’ experience in senior communications roles, ideally in large, complex environments.
• Proven expertise in issues management, crisis communications, and media relations.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing people.
• Highly organised, delivery-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Exceptional writing and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.Experience in local government or public sector (Desirable)
