Responsibilities

• Manage Meridian’s tax affairs with integrity, ensuring compliance with New Zealand and international tax legislation, and supporting a culture of fairness and transparency.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate tax risks, developing robust processes that reflect diverse viewpoints and encourage continuous improvement.
• Provide expert tax advice on business transactions, projects, and new initiatives, working collaboratively across teams and valuing input from all backgrounds.
• Oversee and be actively involved in the preparation and timely filing of all tax compliance obligations for Meridian and its subsidiaries.
• Build positive relationships with Inland Revenue, other tax authorities, and external advisors, communicating clearly and respectfully with people from all walks of life.
• Lead or support tax-related projects, championing system improvements and fostering an environment where everyone feels safe to contribute ideas and challenge the status quo.
