We’re looking for a Procurement Specialist to join our high-performing team in a full-time, permanent role within our Assurance, Finance & Risk department.

What you’ll be doing / He aha te mahi

The role of the Procurement Specialist is to work with our internal business units and external suppliers and partners to help plan, source and manage the goods, services and works that are required to deliver our assets and services to Ratepayers.

The key purpose of this role is to develop and execute procurement and plans, deliver successful sourcing outcomes and enable contract and supplier management to deliver the best possible ‘public value’ outcomes for QLDC.

The role will involve :

• Support the delivery of effective procurement outcomes aligned with QLDC's Long Term and Annual Plans.
• Provide expert advice on procurement planning, documentation, market engagement, and contract negotiations.
• Ensure procurement practices align with Government Procurement Rules and QLDC policies.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to achieve strategic, cost-effective solutions.
• Contribute to procurement excellence through training, mentoring, and continuous process improvement.
• Lead or assist in contract management, supplier engagement, and ongoing reporting to ensure value and accountability.
