• We areseeking applications from Rehabilitation Medicine
• Medical Specialists or Medical Officers
• to join our AdultRehabilitation Service at Burwood Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity toprovide inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care acrossneurorehabilitation, general rehabilitation, and spinal rehabilitation.Two parentalleave cover roles are available :
• 1.0 FTE

• Fixed term for
• 6'12 months
• (depending on parental leave requirements)This roleoffers variety and collaboration across specialist teams, with opportunities tocontribute to teaching, service development, and research.
• About theTeam
• The AdultRehabilitation Service at Burwood Hospital provides comprehensiverehabilitation for people aged 16'65 years. Our services include :
• Neurorehabilitation
• General rehabilitation and reconditioning
• Specialist spinal rehabilitation (as one of two supra-regional spinal services in New Zealand)You will beworking closely with Christchurch Hospital services such as Orthopaedics,Plastics, and Urology to ensure high-quality outcomes for patients.
• AboutBurwood Hospital
• BurwoodHospital, set in attractive grounds on the outskirts of Christchurch, is acentre for rehabilitation and elective orthopaedic surgery. Our service hasstrong links with Christchurch Hospital, ensuring patients benefit fromintegrated care across both sites.
• About you
• As aRehabilitation Medicine Specialist, you will bring :
• FAFRM (RACP) or an equivalent qualification (vocational registration with MCNZ, or eligible for the same)
• Experience in general, neuro, and / or spinal rehabilitation
• Strong commitment to patient-centred care
• Ability to contribute to teaching and mentoring junior medical staff
• Interest in research and service development initiatives
