About Us
King of Skewers Hamilton is a busy Chinese hotpot and skewers restaurant offering authentic Sichuan-style flavours. Our menu features a wide range of skewers, hotpot dishes, fried rice, rice bowls, crispy snacks and popular Chinese street-style small plates. We are currently seeking a full-time Cook to join our kitchen team. Minimum 30 to 45 hours per week Thursday to Sunday
Key Duties
- Independently preparing and cooking a wide range of Sichuan-style dishes using professional techniques such as stir-frying, deep-frying, stewing and braising
- Preparing and adjusting hotpot bases, spice mixes, seasoning blends and broths to maintain consistent flavour profiles
- Managing cooking processes including temperature control, timing and presentation to ensure high-quality and authentic dishes
- Preparing and marinating meats, seafood and vegetables according to established recipes and flavour standards
- Assembling and plating cooked dishes such as skewers, hotpot items, rice bowls, noodle dishes and specialty Sichuan snacks
- Monitoring ingredient freshness, coordinating stock rotation and ensuring efficient use of kitchen supplies
- Maintaining food quality, taste and portion consistency across all menu items
- Training and guiding junior kitchen assistants on preparation tasks and basic kitchen procedures
- Ensuring full compliance with food safety and hygiene standards throughout daily operation
