With increased demand for therapeutic services (apheresis and venesection), a new Therapeutic Services business unit is being developed to further expand the service offering across public and private healthcare organisations throughout New Zealand.
This is an exciting greenfield opportunity to contribute to the establishment and growth of the service, where the main goals are to optimise clinical outcomes for patients and minimise inequities through the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based therapeutic services nationally.
The Role
As Lead Nurse, Therapeutic Services you will play a pivotal role.
Reporting to the Clinical Director – Patient Services (DPS) you will lead nursing operations, ensure excellence in evidenced based patient care, and contribute to service improvement and expansion.
Key responsibilities include :
Providing leadership and expert advice on strategy and key initiatives to CMO, DPS, Chief Nurse and Executive team
Leading the review of existing clinical guidelines, development of national frameworks and educational & development opportunities
Leading service planning, monitoring, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with DPS.
Collaborating with internal and external multidisciplinary teams to ensure services are clinically sound, operationally feasible, and patient-centred
Building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Lead workforce planning, professional development and succession strategies to build capability and sustainability.
Ensure effective delivery of therapeutic service units across New Zealand
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this unique opportunity you will have a minimum of 5 years' post graduate nursing experience in a relevant speciality area of nursing (haematology, apheresis and / or cellular therapies) and be able to demonstrate :
Strengths in strategic planning, service development and working collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.
Proven track record of leading and facilitating teams to implement evidence-based practice and achieve the highest quality standards of care for patients.
Proven leader of nursing practice and ability to support nursing staff at all levels of practice
Strong relationship management skills, with a track record of successfully partnering with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
