Assurance Manager – Health, Safety & Wellbeing

Silver Fern Farms Ltd is seeking an experienced Assurance Manager to oversee assurance, audit and governance functions across our multi-site operations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Health Safety Wellbeing Manager, this senior position is responsible for maintaining the Ora HSW Standards, coordinating audits, evaluating performance, and providing data-driven insights to senior leaders and the Board.

The role balances strategic oversight with hands-on engagement, including regular site visits (approximately every 3-4 weeks) to support continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and maintain the Ora HSW Standards and evaluation processes across the organisation.

Ensure HSW systems are aligned with regulatory requirements and best practice.

Manage our assurance programme : plan, coordinate, and report on evaluations & reviews.

Track performance against Group and site HSW plans, providing analysis and insights.

Champion continuous improvement, using data to highlight trends and drive system enhancements.

Provide specialist advice and guidance to operational and leadership teams.

Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing Group HSW Team focused on keeping our people healthy, safe and well.

About You

You bring proven experience in assurance, auditing or governance within a complex, multi-site or highly regulated environment.

Pragmatic, analytical and confident translating frameworks and data into practical outcomes, you navigate complexity, challenge constructively, and build trust across all levels of the organisation.

You Will Have

Strong background in health, safety, wellbeing, or related compliance systems.

Experience in risk management, assurance or continuous improvement programmes.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and impact.

Understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act and modern HSW governance.

Analytical capability to draw insight and assurance from data and reporting.
