We are seeking a Lecturer Art & Design to join our IDEA School and Toihoukura team at EIT | Te Pūkenga, based in Hawke’s Bay. This permanent part‑time 0.6 FTE role focuses on delivering high‑quality teaching and learning across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, inspiring ākonga through innovative curriculum delivery, and contributing to research and professional practice.

The appointing salary for this role will be on the $60,000 and $85,000 , dependent on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering high‑quality instruction in design across multiple delivery modes.
  • Developing lesson plans and course content aligned with programme objectives.
  • Providing academic and pastoral support to ākonga.
  • Contributing to curriculum development, assessment, and moderation.
  • Engaging in research or creative practice relevant to design education.

About you

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in design or a related creative discipline.
  • Experience teaching in tertiary or adult education settings.
  • Knowledge of contemporary design curricula and educational best practices.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and inclusively.
  • Understanding and appreciation of te reo Māori me ōna tikanga.
  • Teaching qualification and research experience (desirable).
