About the job :
We’re looking for a keen Plumber / I&I Technician to join our team in Auckland.
You will be responsible for locating and reporting on sources of inflow and infiltration (I&I) and any contamination getting into stormwater systems affecting our beaches within the Auckland Region.
This may involve :
- Carrying out private and public property investigations, inspecting the wastewater and stormwater infrastructure to determine if there are any faults or not.
- Operating CCTV cameras, smoke machines and taking water samples.
- Writing investigation reports of what has been found in the field, assisting with pricing and administration required.
- Enjoy a role that’s primarily outdoors, with the opportunity to work across different parts of Auckland and occasionally further afield.
- Working as part of a small team.
What you’ll need :
You will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the New Zealand private or public drainage industry or relevant industry experience.We are looking for someone with a relevant plumbing or engineering tertiary qualification, as well as relevant New Zealand industry experience.Excellent problem-solving skills, a proactive approach and be a great communicator.We need someone who is able and willing to participate in the on-call and standby roster.You will need to be physically fit, health and safety focused and work well in a team as well as independently.You’ll be a quick learner with excellent communication skills.Confident working with technology and software.A full class 1 licence and an ability to drive a manual is also essential.All preferred candidates will be required to complete preemployment checks to the employer’s satisfaction. These checks include but are not limited to, Ministry of Justice criminal conviction report, medical assessment, and drug and alcohol testing.
