Job descriptionRelevant tertiary qualification in mathematics, statistics, data science, or related field At least five years’ experience as an analyst or similar role Proficiency in modelling tools (e.g., RiskScape, R, SQL, Python) Experience developing, validating, and maintaining risk and loss models Ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly Knowledge of insurance, reinsurance, or risk financing is preferred

About the Role
Our public sector client are looking for a Senior Loss Modelling Analyst to be based in either Wellington or Christchurch to lead advanced loss modelling initiatives, providing strategic insights that support the organisation’s resilience and risk management goals. This role involves collaborating across departments and with external partners to develop robust models and deliver actionable analysis.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine loss models ensuring robustness and best practices
- Provide strategic advice on resilience modelling efforts
- Support the execution of the Loss Modelling Strategy
- Conduct high-level data analysis to inform decision-makingCollaborate on model validation and process improvements
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships
