Implementation Project Manager - eGate Replacement Project

Are you an experienced project manager ready to deliver a complex, mission‑critical implementation? Join us and play a key role in the eGate Replacement Project, a strategic initiative enhancing biometric capabilities across New Zealand’s international airports.

About this role

The eGate Replacement Project is a cornerstone of Customs’ digital transformation journey, strengthening identity verification and border security. As part of a collaborative, high‑performing team, you’ll lead the day‑to‑day delivery of the eGate Replacement and biometric capability implementation across four airports, ensuring successful deployment by 30 June 2027.

You’ll operate in a complex, multi‑stakeholder environment, managing technology and business change at scale.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Leading implementation planning and delivery across all workstreams
• Coordinating with Customs, third‑party suppliers, airport companies, and partner agencies
• Managing risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure smooth deployment
• Supporting operational readiness and transition to business‑as‑usual
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and wellbeing standards

About you

You’re an accomplished project manager with proven experience delivering large‑scale, mission‑critical projects in complex environments. You thrive on collaboration and have the confidence to lead across multiple stakeholders.
