What does a Response Operator do you ask?

To put it simply, our Response Operators are multi-skilled professionals who bring a broad range of talents to the table, tackling both scheduled and reactive tasks that keep public buildings and infrastructure in top condition. With your background in building, maintenance, or practical handy work, your day-to-day responsibilities will include :

• Responding to daily callouts to repair council assets, such as setting up bollards, mending fences, fixing picnic tables, and installing park signs.
• Carrying out a wide range of building and infrastructure work, including manual labour, carpentry, joinery, concreting, and general construction using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
• Conducting site assessments for minor infrastructure and building projects and preparing quotes for labour and materials.
• Contributing to landscaping, garden construction, and maintenance when needed.
• Supporting other contract teams with flexibility and a willingness to jump in and assist wherever needed.
