About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Advisor – Local Government to help deliver high-quality planning, reporting, and compliance for a forward-thinking regional authority. You’ll play a key part in preparing the Long‑Term Plan, Annual Plan, and Annual Report, ensuring the organisation meets its obligations under the Local Government Act 2002 while driving improvement and transparency.

What You’ll Do

• Provide expert advice and hands‑on support for key statutory documents.
• Interpret and apply legislation to ensure compliance and best practice.
• Coordinate Section 17A service delivery reviews to improve community outcomes.
• Build strong working relationships with internal teams, iwi partners, and other councils.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve systems and processes.
