Job description

Company Description

At Arvida, we create communities with freedom to thrive. We develop and operate communities that provide independent living and aged care services to older New Zealanders – with a resident‑led approach. Each day, our interactions with our team and residents are guided by three values : Being There | In it Together | Look for a Way. We have a network of 34 communities throughout the country – each with unique environments that support our residents to live life their way.

About the opportunity

Our Te Puna Waiora community is a living and breathing example of Arvida’s resident‑led approach and Attitude of Living Well ethos. Located in the heart of sunny Kerikeri, Te Puna Waiora boasts modern living options that enable our residents to live life their way. On offer are one‑, two‑, and three‑bedroom villas; resident‑led initiatives including a workshop and water activities; and the stunning Te Ripo Wai Clubhouse with a bar, café, and indoor and outdoor entertainment areas.

As Village Manager you will oversee all day‑to‑day operations including team leadership, resident satisfaction, sales, landscape and property maintenance, and overall financial performance. You will also work closely with our on‑site construction team, as development of additional villas continue. A Care Centre is in planning stages, for residents that need rest home or hospital‑level care but for now the community, and this role, is focused on independent living.

This is a unique opportunity, suitable for someone passionate about building great communities, where you will be supported by a great team and surrounded by an exceptional group of residents and their whanau.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years' experience in a similar role (senior living experience preferred).
  • Ability to engage and foster relationships with prospective and established residents and ensure Arvida’s reputation is enhanced in the local community.
  • Experience in leading, coaching and developing people – fostering a values‑led culture.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to deliver operational goals.
  • Knowledge and experience of aged residential care preferred, or related health or social sector experience.
  • Understanding and application of relevant legislation.
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety management and safe working practices.

What we offer

  • Competitivemarket rate
  • Ongoing training with RVA Te Ara Institute
  • National Village Manager network and connection
  • An experienced and supportive culture across the wider Arvida team
  • An engaging and positive work environment with excellent job satisfaction as you and your team provide quality living, care and support to residents and their families.
  • Above all else you will have the opportunity to work in a purpose‑led environment where you can truly make a difference – in the lives of New Zealanders and in your own career.

Be sure to include a cover letter (within the 'Message to the Hiring Team' section on our application form) that outlines your fit for this role and desire to lead resident‑focused outcomes.
