Restaurant & Bar Manager

Ministry of Works Bar & Eatery located in Twizel, is looking for a new Restaurant Manager.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational management of the restaurant, including bookings, restaurant set-up and close, customer flow, and effective daily communication with kitchen staff;
• Manage recruiting, training and day-to-day oversight and motivation of staff with administrative assistance provided by our Office team;
• Manage wage-cost control;
• Manage and purchase restaurant supplies;
• Undertake beverage purchasing and stock control, with assistance from the Operations manager;
• Create weekly rosters, with the Operations Manager;
• Manage the operation of the tills, undertaking daily cash-ups, and resolving issues;
• Delegate operating duties and ensuring they are completed;
• Ensure that the company policies are adhered to;
• Ensure daily communication on operational issues with the Operations Manager;
• Instil a team environment which results in staff retention;
• Organise general repair and maintenance;

Qualifications

Compensation

The position is well remunerated, at between $70,000 and $80,000 per annum + bonus depending on experience, and involves working at least 40 hours per week. The nature of our business means that the job does involve regular late nights.
