The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Technician (or Level 4 Electrician) to become the first permanent on-site team member at our newly completed Kaitaia Solar Farm. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day site operations, build systems and processes from the ground up, and play a key role in driving the performance, safety, and efficiency of the facility.

You will be well supported by our experienced teams in both Christchurch and Australia, providing guidance, expertise, and strategic oversight as you take the lead on-site. This role is perfect for a proactive and capable professional looking to grow their career in renewable energy operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and optimise solar farm assets including inverters, combiner boxes, PV modules, trackers, SCADA, and related systems.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, including inspections, testing, fault response, and performance troubleshooting.
• Monitor and analyse site performance using SCADA and other platforms to drive continuous improvement and long-term asset reliability.
• Establish and manage site operational systems, including SOPs, spares management, warranty processes, contractor coordination, and emergency readiness.
• Ensure full compliance with HSE standards while acting as the on-site custodian for safety, security, and operational best practices.
