Job description

The Nursing Lecturer is a part time 0.8FTE permanent role to join our School of Nursing team and contribute to the delivery of the Bachelor of Nursing programme. This role involves teaching, curriculum development, and supporting students to achieve success in both theory and practice. You will play a key part in shaping the next generation of nurses and ensuring high-quality learning experiences.

The appointing salary for this role will be as per the TEU Academic Collective Employment Agreement and is negotiable, based on clinical experience and academic qualifications.

The Nursing Lecturer is based in our School of Nursing at Taradale, Hawke’s Bay , reporting to the Assistant Head of School / Practicum Manager – Nursing , and will be responsible for :

  • Teaching and facilitating learning experiences within the Nursing Programme.
  • Developing and updating course content and resources.
  • Supporting students in clinical and academic settings.
  • Contributing to curriculum development and assessment moderation.
  • Participating in research and promoting nursing programmes.

To be successful in this role you will have :

  • Current practicing certificate as a Registered Nurse (essential).
  • Bachelor of Nursing (essential) and postgraduate qualification (desired).
  • Nursing practice experience and understanding of cultural safety.
  • Strong communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to curriculum development.
