This is an exciting civilian role where you can utilise your specialist experience to support the delivery and execution of Bridge Warfare Officer (BWO) Navigation and Warfare training using Bridge Simulation and operational tactical training systems as the primary training and assessment tool and sea assessments for specialist courses. This includes but not limited to specialist military training programme design, development and delivery, collaborative engagement with Serco and NZDF staff, facilitation of training scenarios and technical expertise in simulation systems.

As a Simulation Specialist Senior Instructor in the Defence team, you'll make a positive impact by :

• Delivering specialist RNZN Bridge Warfare training using simulation technology
• Designing, updating and facilitating training scenarios and courseware
• Collaborating with NZDF staff to align training with RNZN objectives
• Leading and supporting MFUNO, MWVNO, MFUCC and MWVCC courses
• Coaching new instructors through the SSSI / SSAI induction program
• Conducting sea-based assessments and supporting on-vessel training where required

• The highest levels of personal integrity and behaviour
• Must have served in the RNZN, RAN or RN as a Navigation Specialist or Principal Warfare Officer (PWO) specialist (or equivalent)
• Currently holds NZ Citizenship or Permanent Residency and / or is able to gain NZ Citizenship or Permanent Residency
• Ability to hold and maintain a Defence security clearance of SV, NV1, or above or equivalent security clearance recognised within the Five Eyes (FVEY) alliance (US, UK, NZ, AUS & CAN)
• Must be flexible around shift rosters
