We're auditioning now for a digital commercial lawyer in our TVNZ Legal team on a six month fixed‑term contract, reporting to TVNZ's General Counsel.

If you're an experienced and pragmatic commercial lawyer, who loves contracts, content, sport, news, data and all things digital, and empowering a business to manage legal risk, this could be the role for you!

In this role, you will be responsible for providing effective and efficient legal advisory services on a range of exciting commercial matters, privacy, intellectual property and responsible AI adoption.

Your key accountabilities will include :

• Legal advice and support to the TVNZ business on a variety of commercial contracts and areas of relevant law, and assisting with responses to Official Information Act requests from time to time.
• Ensure TVNZ's legal rights and obligations are clearly understood by providing an effective and efficient legal advisory service, proactively managing TVNZ's legal risk, and advising on compliance with relevant legislation.
• Provide advice to the business on legislation relevant to TVNZ, including responsible AI adoption, Privacy Act, and consumer laws.
