At Parkside Specialist School, we’re seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physiotherapist who is passionate about supporting students with diverse learning needs. You will work with students aged 5 to 21 years, helping them develop strength, mobility, and confidence so they can participate fully in learning and everyday life.
Our learners have a wide range of needs including, but not limited to : Autism Spectrum Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, Cerebral Palsy, Intellectual Disability, ADHD, Speech and Language Delay, and Down Syndrome. Your role will be varied and deeply rewarding, with opportunities to make a genuine difference every day.
What you will do :
- Provide individual and group physiotherapy to support gross motor development, posture, mobility, and functional independence in order to support access to the curriculum.
- Assess and manage physical, mobility, and postural support needs, including specialised equipment and Orthotics.
- Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team of occupational therapists, speech language therapists, psychologists, teaching staff and support staff.
- Deliver therapy at our base school in Pukekohe and across our satellite sites in the Franklin area.
- Contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs), setting meaningful and achievable goals.
- Provide guidance and practical strategies to teachers, teacher aides, and whānau.
- Participate in ongoing professional learning and share your expertise with the team.
- Ensure practice is culturally responsive, in line with Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
