Job Description

The Pacific Area Finance and Records Department (FRD) is seeking to appoint a Finance Manager to be based at Liahona High School Campus in Tonga. This is a full-time, permanent senior level position offering a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the financial stewardship of the Church’s operation in Tonga.

The successful candidate will be expected to fulfil a range of key responsibilities and meet essential qualifications and experience criteria aligned with the professional standards of the role.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and supervision of staff including selection, training, motivating, performance, and disciplinary issues
• Lead and manage the finance function in Tonga including providing support to Local Unit Finance Team
• Develop key relationships with Senior Government Officials, Government Departments and Banks
• Support, counsel and provide key guidance to the other members of Tonga Management Team
• Research and resolve complex financial issues
• Ensure accuracy of ledgers and timely reconciliations
• Efficiency in the completion and filing of all statutory reports and disclosures
• Build and maintain relationships of trust with key customers
• Ensure the maintenance and design of internal controls
• Prepare special studies and reports when and as required
