Customer Services Officer

Are you passionate about helping people and making a difference in your community? Invercargill City Council is looking for a friendly and motivated Customer Services Officer to join our future-focused team based in the Te Hinaki Civic Building on Esk Street.

This full-time position is 40 hours per week, 8 : 00am-5 : 00pm, Monday to Friday. The role includes front-of-house customer service, cashier transactions, and support through our phone contact centre.

Key responsibilities for this role include :

• Acting as the first point of contact for customers, providing prompt and accurate advice in person and over the phone.
• Supporting customers across a wide range of Council services, including dog registration, rates, environmental health, theatre bookings, wheelie bins and property file requests.
• Processing payments and handling cash transactions.
• Assisting customers with online services and application forms, while maintaining accurate Council records.
