Cook / Lodge Chef – Nutrition-Focused, Nature-Loving, Seasonal Role
Kinloch Wilderness Retreat is a nature-based eco lodge at the head of Lake Whakatipu. We’re surrounded by mountains, forests and some of New Zealand’s most iconic tracks.
Our food philosophy : simple, beautiful, seasonal dishes with a focus on nutrition, sustainability and quality ingredients.
We serve a set dinner menu for up to 24 guests, plus occasional breakfast and lunch offerings.

The Role
We’re seeking a passionate cook who can deliver consistent, nourishing meals with care and calmness.
You’ll work alongside our owner-chef and small team to create memorable dining experiences.
You’ll also support simple short-order drinks service (coffee, teas, spritzers, wines) and help maintain a clean, organized kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver a set dinner menu(2–3 courses) for up to 24 guests
Contribute to seasonal prep, salads, desserts and breakfast service
Maintain a clean and well-organised kitchen
Assist with simple drinks service
Work collaboratively with FOH and HK teams
Uphold high standards of nutrition, sustainability and food integrity
Contribute positively to a calm, values-based workplace culture
