As the Senior Commercial Business Partner, you will be the strategic 2IC to the CFO, leading a high‑performing team of Commercial Business Partners. You will drive commercial excellence across the organisation, embedding financial discipline, strategic insight, and operational alignment to deliver sustainable growth and profitability. This role is pivotal in shaping the commercial direction of the business, influencing executive decision‑making, and ensuring financial performance is tightly aligned with strategic objectives.

- Leadership & Strategic Influence
Lead, mentor, and develop the Commercial Business Partnering team to deliver high‑impact financial insights and strategic support.
Act as the CFO’s commercial right hand, providing leadership across all commercial initiatives and financial planning activities.Champion commercial acumen across the Group, building capability and embedding a performance‑driven culture.Commercial & Financial StrategyCollaborate with operational leaders to understand business drivers, challenges, and opportunities.
Provide strategic financial guidance on route profitability, asset utilisation, and contract performance.Influence executive and board‑level decisions through robust scenario modelling, commercial insights, and risk analysis.Performance Management & ReportingLead the annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting, including cost‑to‑serve, margin analysis, and performance dashboards.Ensure KPIs are clearly defined, measured, and monitored to drive accountability and continuous improvement.Commercial Analysis & Decision SupportDevelop and maintain advanced financial models to assess pricing strategies, cost impacts, and capital investment decisions.
Support pricing and tender processes with rigorous financial analysis and risk assessment.Evaluate customer and contract profitability, identifying opportunities for optimisation and growth.Operational & Strategic InitiativesProvide financial leadership on fleet upgrades, technology investments, and network expansion projects.
Track ROI on strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with long‑term business objectives.Identify and mitigate commercial risks, including fuel price volatility, contract exposure, and market dynamics.Governance & ComplianceEnsure adherence to financial policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
Drive a culture of commercial integrity, transparency, and accountability across all business units.Key Requirements
Previous experience as a 2IC to a CFO.Proven experience (10+ years) in a senior commercial, finance, or strategy role.Experience leading the commercial function of a business during a period of transition / transformation.Extensive corporate experience across diverse industries, extending beyond the logistics sector.Demonstrated success in leading commercial teams and influencing executive‑level decision‑making.Strong track record in financial modelling, scenario analysis, and strategic planning.Deep understanding of cost‑to‑serve, margin analysis, and performance management frameworks.Experience supporting large‑scale tenders, pricing strategies, and capital investment decisions.Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.CA / CPA qualified or equivalent; MBA or similar post‑graduate qualification.#J-18808-Ljbffr
