These positions are part of the regional training rotation programme with Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand Auckland Region Districts, comprising Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand Te Toka Tumai Auckland, Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand Waitematā, and Te Whatu Ora – Health New Zealand Counties Manukau Districts.

Why train as a non-SET Surgical Registrar in the Auckland Region :
Rotate through nine RACS surgical sub-specialties : Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, ORL / ENT, Orthopaedics, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Vascular Surgery. Note : If interested only in Orthopaedics, specify this in your online application.Approved training reimbursementsPractice across three District Health Boards within a 30 km radius, many with national and supra-regional specialist servicesWork in structured teams supported by SET trainees, Fellows, and ConsultantsMentorship and guidance from Consultants who are SET selectors, offering valuable feedback and advice for RACS SET Training program entryReceive world-class training and supervision from renowned Consultants handling complex conditionsServe a diverse patient population, with Auckland hosting nearly a third of New Zealand's population, providing opportunities to develop interpersonal, diagnostic, and surgical skills rapidlyMinimum of 6 months experience in surgical runs requiredEligibility for general scope registration with the Medical Council of New ZealandTe Whatu Ora, Health New Zealand, is committed to reflecting Auckland's diverse communities in its workforce.
