Job Description
As the Logistics Coordinator, you’ll be the operational backbone of the Collections Laboratory team — ensuring everything runs smoothly from pre-season preparation through to post-harvest review. You’ll coordinate people, assets, and schedules to ensure samples are collected efficiently and safely, while maintaining our commitment to excellence and compliance.
Reporting to the Collections Manager, in this role you will work closely with the Training Manager to develop onboarding plans for field and support staff, ensuring the right number of people and resources are in place before the season begins. You’ll maintain registers for vehicles, phones, and consumables to ensure all assets are ready for use, and manage the registration process including GSR training, progress reporting, and system support.
During the main season, you’ll coordinate sampling rounds, rosters, and logistics across multiple regions, managing the daily allocation of work to collectors and runners and ensuring delivery targets are met. You’ll perform regular audits to ensure adherence to quality and Health & Safety standards, verify sampling accuracy, and make sure field teams have the right equipment and PPE at all times.
You’ll also oversee administrative functions such as sample reception and batching, handle customer and internal queries, and maintain essential mapping and documentation. Following the season, you’ll lead structured reviews to identify improvements and support various programmes including pest monitoring, bactericide auditing, and regional field initiatives.
Throughout all phases, you’ll ensure compliance with ISO 17025 standards — including maintaining traceability, documentation, and chain of custody for all sampling activities.
