Automotive Refinisher

MECHANIXGARAGE LIMITED, based in Christchurch, Canterbury, is a dedicated automotive service provider known for reliable and efficient service. We are now providing collision repair services to restore customers' vehicles to their pre-accident condition. We are looking for three Automotive Refinishers to join our team. This is a permanent, full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Surface Preparation :

o Inspect vehicles for damage and prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, cleaning, and applying primers.

o Repair minor dents, scratches, and imperfections on vehicle

surfaces.

o Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results.

o Apply paint, lacquer, and other coatings using spray guns, brushes, and other tools.

o Use techniques such as blending, clear coating, and polishing to ensure a smooth and uniform finish.

o Inspect completed work for defects and ensure that the finish

meets company and industry standards.

o Perform touch-ups and corrections as necessary.

o Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools.

o Ensure the proper use and storage of paints, solvents, and other materials.

o Adhere to safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

o Follow environmental regulations related to the disposal of

hazardous materials and emissions.

o Communicate with customers regarding their vehicle’s refinishing needs and provide updates on the progress of their repairs or customization.

o Document work performed, including materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered.

Requirements

This is a full-time permanent role, and the hourly pay rate is between $28 and $35, based on experience. The work hours are from 30  hours minimum to 45  hours maximum per week to be worked between Monday to Friday between 7am to 5 pm and may be required to work on weekends.
