Quality Assurance Technologist - Wiri

Reporting to our Food Safety & Quality Manager, this full‑time role is based at our Wiri manufacturing site. As one of our four QA techs you’ll enjoy varied work, a great team and free onsite parking. The preferred working hours for this role will be 1.00pm – 9.30pm, Monday to Friday . Flexibility is essential as this role may require occasional weekend work to support our food safety and quality activities.
No two days will be the same in this dynamic role, where you'll champion Food Safety and Quality while supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System — ensuring the consistent delivery of safe, high‑quality food to our consumers.
What you’ll be responsible for :
- Encouraging a culture of Food Safety & Quality and driving best practice GMP behaviours
- Developing relationships with the wider team to both influence and encourage food safety best practice
- Root cause analysis and identifying both corrective and preventive actions
- Coordinating assigned pre‑requisite programmes
- Active participation in internal / external audits and completing tasks to a standard that meets all requirements to ensure compliance to Legal, GFSI and Customer Standards
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of our Quality Management System through participation in HACCP reviews, including CCP and QCP validation
- Investigating customer complaints and internal corrective action requests and assist with the development of preventive actions
- Generating relevant reports and supporting with project work as and when required
What you’ll bring to the role :
3+ years’ experience in a Quality Assurance role, ideally in a FMCG food manufacturing environmentA tertiary qualification in Food Science, Food Technology or similarExperience with food safety & quality risk assessmentsExperience with HACCP and Internal Audit TrainingConfidence using MS Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (extra tick if you have used PowerApps)Excellent written / verbal communication and relationship building skills – you work well in a team and can influence others when needed!A passion for sharing your knowledge with othersExceptional organisation skills – you’re a pro at juggling multiple balls and can easily jump between tasks.Accountability – you own your decisions and can be counted on to do what you say you will.Positivity, self‑motivation, and a solutions‑focused approach– you see road bumps as a challenge, not a disasterAn innovative, inquisitive approach and ‘out of box thinking’An eagerness to learn and develop your career with us!What can you expect in return?
