• Christchurch Outpatients Building, Christchurch Health Campus
• 1.0FTE (40 hours a week) Fixed Term until January 2027 due to Parental Leave

• About the Role
• We have a great opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team inthe Eye Outpatients.Healthcare Assistants are instrumental in providing care topatients and supporting the clinical team. As a Healthcare Assistant you willassist nursing staff with patient cares whilst maintaining a safe and cleanwork environment on the ward.You will be involved in :
• Vision assessments
• Vision assessments
• Assisting with minor procedures
• Technical scans and photos
• General hospital aide / ophthalmic dutiesThis is a great role for those who are interested in eyes orhave worked in an eye field.
• About the Service
• The Eye Clinic is a very busy and demanding service that isstaffed by a dedicated team of Healthcare Assistants, Nurses, Orthoptists,Optometrists and Technicians who work closely with our highly skilled andspecialised Ophthalmologists to meet the eye health needs of the people ofCanterbury.
• About you
• We are seeking a Healthcare Assistant with a passion andcommitment to the delivery of high standard of care for the patients.Enthusiastic and motivated, you will have excellent communication andinterpersonal skills and enjoy working in a fast paced, forward thinking,supportive environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage well
• Effective problem solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team
• Initiative and a proactive approach to work
• Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork
• Strong computer skills and administration experience would be an advantage
• Ideally experience as a Healthcare Assistant or similar role
• Working at Health New Zealand
