We are looking for a driven and motivated Mahi Specialist to join our team in our new Tokoroa office starting January 2026! This role is all about helping whānau get into mahi– supporting them to secure jobs, build careers, and create brighter futures.
As a Mahi Specialist, you’ll be the connector between whānau and employers. You’ll be out in the community, building strong relationships with businesses, identifying job opportunities, and matching whānau to sustainable mahi that fits their skills and aspirations.
What you’ll be doing
Working alongside whānau of all ages to help them prepare for and move into mahi.
Actively connecting with employers to source and create job placements.
Supporting whānau with interview preparation and workplace readiness.
Checking in and building relationships with employers to improve service.
Bringing on new employers and connecting them with a ready-to-go database of whānau seeking mahi.
What you’ll bring
A strong focus on job placement and recruitment– matching the right whānau with the right opportunities.
A go-getter attitude with proven ability to engage employers and whānau.
Great communication and relationship-building skills.
Experience in recruitment, employment services, or workforce development (preferred but not essential).
Understanding of Te Ao Māori values and how they apply to mahi.
Very confident using computers for email, reporting, and online systems, with the ability to pick up new tools quickly.
A full driver’s licence – need to travel regularly across the Wider Waikato region, potentially Taupo District too.
What we offer
A whānau-focused workplace where your mahi makes a real difference.
Mahi–home life balance to support your wellbeing and whānau commitments.
The opportunity to grow your skills in job placement and workforce development.
Ongoing training and professional development.
Competitive remuneration based on experience.
If you’re passionate about connecting whānau with meaningful mahi and want to make a real difference in the Hamilton community, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and join our whānau at Kiwi Staff – together, we can build brighter futures.
