Field Services Engineer - Medical Devices
A global leader in medical devices is seeking experienced Field Service Engineers to join its Auckland based technical services team in 2026! This is an excellent opportunity for engineers with strong troubleshooting skills who thrive in hospital environments and enjoy delivering high-quality technical support that directly impacts patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide field service engineering support for medical devices across an assigned territory
- Install, commission, service, maintain, and repair medical equipment
- Deliver on-site and remote technical support to hospitals and clinical customers
- Perform preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and corrective actions
- Respond to emergency service calls and manage service priorities effectively
- Maintain accurate service documentation, work orders, and reports in a Service Management System
- Build trusted relationships with clinicians, nurses, biomedical engineers, and hospital stakeholders
- Manage customer expectations and drive high levels of customer satisfaction
- Manage allocated tools, spare parts, and inventory, including audits
- Participate in incident investigations, clinical trials support, evaluations, and regulatory testing
- Complete required product, safety, and compliance training
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
- Communicate service issues, trends, and improvement opportunities to management
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related field2+ years of experience in a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, or Technical Support Engineer role within the medical device or healthcare technology industryStrong troubleshooting, fault‑finding, and root‑cause analysis skillsExperience working in hospital and clinical environmentsExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesAbility to manage a service territory independently and prioritise competing service demandsCustomer‑focused mindset with a strong commitment to service excellenceWillingness to travel, including short‑notice travelWhat’s On Offer
