Great Southern Waters is a New Zealand owned and operated beverage manufacturing company, located just outside Lincoln in Christchurch. We are looking for a proactive and experienced Beverage Team Leader to join our small but dedicated team as we continue to expand our manufacturing business.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and experience managing teams within a high‑paced FMCG manufacturing environment. A Beverage Team Leader is primarily responsible for ensuring that production shifts within a manufacturing facility run safely, smoothly and efficiently. On a day‑to‑day basis, this role involves managing and motivating your team to ensure efficient production, ensuring correct food safety processes and procedures are followed at all times, assisting in training and coaching team members to enhance skills and performance, maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and safety standards, assisting in inventory management, stock control and minimizing wastage, and preparing daily reports on production performance.

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Beverage Team Leader also collaborates closely with other production staff and management to optimise workflow, enhance productivity and ensure a cohesive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement. This role requires strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills to oversee a team and ensure efficient, safe and high‑quality beverage production.

Required skills and qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing leadership role, preferably (but not necessarily) within the beverage or FMCG manufacturing sectors
• Strong leadership and management abilities
• Warehousing and logistics experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Familiarity with food safety requirements, both MPI and HAACP
• Experience with the types of machinery used in food production plants
• Flexibility to be available for different shift times
• Attention to detail Success in this role will be measured through achieving a consistent production output of high‑quality products by a team that is well supported and understands what is expected of them.

You will be a team player, be solutions focused and have a proven ability to rationally diagnose production issues and implement production line adjustments to maximise quality and productivity. You will need a clean driver’s licence, be a New Zealand Resident or hold an appropriate work visa.
