Cafe Manager

The position is for a Café Manager in the bustling area of Taupo CBD.

The successful candidate will organise and control the operation of our food business.

While managing day-to-day operations, they must ensure customers' experience is exceptional, staff are managed effectively, as well as achieve financial and operational goals.

The manager is key in maintaining product quality, promoting the café brand, and driving sales.

Full time position - 40 hours per weekA degree in management or similar

Minimum 2 years experience in a management role

Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Proficience in point-of-sale systems, inventory management, and financial reporting.

Ideally, with knowledge of health and safety in a workplace but training will be given.

Key Responsibilities :

Café store operation

Compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards

Managing the opening and closing of the store, cash handling, cleanliness, and inventory

Coordinate with suppliers, arrange repairs and servicing of bakery equipment as needed

Team leadership

Manage and mentor staff, develop and manage staff roster, and foster a supportive work environment

Product Quality and Presentation

Ensure and maintain the bakery's high standards

Work with the kitchen team and conduct regular food control plans, audit on products and processes

Oversee proper food handling, packaging, and display of products

Customer Experience

Cultivate and maintain a friendly and welcoming atmosphere

Address customers' inquiries, requests, and complaints professionally and promptly either in person or online feedback.

Sales and Marketing

Set and monitor daily, weekly, and monthly sales targets and commit strategies to meet them

Work effectively with Business Owners with strategies for growth

Handling cafe social media Facebook page sale campaign or products introduction

Financial Management

Manage budgets, cash flow, and financial reporting to the Business Owners

Optimise operational costs without compromising quality or customer service

Approve payroll and staff hours

Flexible schedule, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays to accommodate

our operations.

Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of heavy goods.

Must consent to a drug test and credit check if required.
