About the Role

As a Data Research Associate, you will be a key part of Te Oranga Pūkahukahu, the Lung Cancer Screening Research Team, providing high-quality data analysis, research support, and guidance across a wide range of screening projects.

You’ll design and support data projects, extract and analyse datasets, contribute to research publications, and ensure data integrity and governance are upheld throughout the research lifecycle. You will also help develop data collection tools, study manuals, quality assurance processes, indicator definitions, and research data management plans.

Working closely with project teams, Māori Health Pipeline staff, software developers, and research partners, you’ll play an important role in supporting equitable research outcomes — particularly for Māori and Pacific communities — by ensuring robust, safe, and culturally aligned data practices.

This is a fantastic role for someone passionate about research, data, equity and improving lung cancer outcomes across Aotearoa.

You are analytical, detail‑focused and passionate about supporting high‑quality clinical research through strong data capability. You’re comfortable working with complex health datasets and enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
