This role sits within our Pacific Bulk Fuel (PBF) business, which provides specialist fuel storage and movement solutions across New Zealand, Fiji and Singapore. PBF manages a dedicated fleet, oversees key commercial partnerships and upholds strict compliance and safety standards to ensure dependable service throughout the region. As part of the wider NPDL network, PBF plays a vital part in keeping essential supply chains operating efficiently and responsibly.
Job Description
This position requires actively partnering with cross-functional teams throughout the organization in order to effectively understand changes in the competitive shipping environment. The Financial Analyst is responsible for all aspects of their analyses : formulating templates, determining the data requirements, extracting and manipulating the data, conducting the analyses, and updating reports. One of the most important aspects of the job is to take a very large quantity of data and analytic results and condense it down to financial summary.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large volumes of data and presenting in a concise and intuitive manner
- Develop and manage reports for forecasting, sales trends, and financial results analysis
- Collaborate with cost and revenue center managers to verify data
- Assist in the preparation of monthly close (including variance explanations and providing accruals)
- Utilize Cargo Wise (ERP) and excel to develop value-added reporting tools
- Management of the divisions financial statements, including reconciliation of accounts
- Proactively identify issues and opportunities and provide value-added analysis to improve business performance
- Proactively improve business processes through system tools and methods
- Assist with ad-hoc analytical projects
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field is preferred.2+ years of relevant experience in FP&A or related field, with experience in the shipping industry a plus.Strong Excel skills required. Power BI experience a plus.Strong analytics and strategic thinking skills.Self-driven to achieve goals; high energy level is essential, dedicated work ethic.Hands-on / Roll up your sleeves approach, working with the team to produce high quality work products. We are a very hands-on, detailed organization where going to the invoice level data is not uncommon.Collaborative team player who builds strong relationships across functional lines and thrives on adding value.Meet all deadlines / deliverables : we are a fast-paced environment with strict timetables to ensure we complete all assigned work.Candidates must be comfortable with constantly shifting priorities.Outstanding verbal / written communication, presentation, organizational and teamwork skills are required.Ability to build and maintain internal customer relationships; works well with others, collaborative and cooperative.Additional Information
