We are looking for qualified and experienced Construction Equipment Technicians to fill various vacancies throughout NZ, including in Wellington, Dunedin, and Gisborne.

This nationally represented, leading franchise organisation is a leading provider of construction equipment solutions, offering sales, service, and repairs for a wide range of heavy machinery. They are committed to delivering high-quality service and ensuring their equipment operates at peak performance. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced and skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their team.

Key responsibilities

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy construction equipment
  • Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on diesel engines and related components
  • Inspect and test machinery to identify potential problems and ensure proper functionality
  • Utilise diagnostic tools and software to determine equipment issues
  • Conduct repairs on hydraulic systems, transmissions, and fuel injection systems
  • Maintain accurate service records and reports
  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure timely equipment availability
  • Provide recommendations for repairs and preventive maintenance schedules
  • Skills we seek

  • Relevant automotive trade qualification
  • 3 years of relevant hands-on experience
  • WTR endorsement and HT licence advantageous
  • Sound customer service skills
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently
