Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education New Zealand is the national provider of education services for Deaf and hard of hearing learners. Guided by whanaungatanga, manaakitanga, kotahitanga, and ako, we celebrate Deaf culture, advance bilingualism in NZSL, Te Reo Māori and English, and strive for equitable learning outcomes for all learners.
We are seeking an exceptional educational leader to join our executive leadership team as deputy principal, pedagogy and curriculum. This pivotal role provides strategic and operational leadership across curriculum, pedagogy, professional learning, evaluation and reporting, and resource development.
About the role | Te tūranga
As deputy principal, pedagogy and curriculum, you will lead the design and implementation of national pedagogy and curriculum frameworks that drive excellence in Deaf education. You will oversee curriculum and resource development, professional learning programmes, and evaluation processes that strengthen teaching practice and support improved outcomes for Deaf and hard of hearing learners.
Reporting to the executive principal, you will guide a highly skilled pedagogy and curriculum team and contribute to organisational strategy. Your leadership will foster collaboration, curiosity, and continuous improvement, ensuring learning, wellbeing, and inclusion remain central to all practice.

You bring proven senior leadership experience, expertise in curriculum and professional learning, and the ability to lead complex systems with clarity, empathy, and strategic direction.
This role is based in either Auckland or Christchurch.
