Job description

My client is an innovative business providing a game-changing Health & Safety software solution trusted by builders, developers, and construction professionals across NZ, Australia, and the UK. With strong market demand, a solid pipeline, and a product the industry genuinely needs, the company is primed for its next phase of growth.

On their behalf, I am looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team, servicing the lower North Island. In this role, you will own your region - identifying potential customers, generating leads, and managing the full sales pipeline from initial contact through to customer conversion.

About the role

  • Driving growth within your territory by developing and maintaining relationships with merchants, builders, contractors, and key decision makers
  • Building a strong pipeline through proactive prospecting, winning new business, and managing key relationships across the construction industry
  • Communicating the value of this business effectively through tailored outreach and interactions, delivering insights and presentations that influence decision making and drive customer action
  • Working with the wider commercial team to align on strategies and execute plans to meet revenue goals
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by sharing customer insights and supporting product development

About you

  • You have a strong sales background withinthe building / construction industry with a solid understanding of the residential construction market
  • You are business development focused, with the ability to identify opportunities and drive new growth across your region
  • You are a strong communicator with the confidence and ability to engage individuals at all levels
  • You are a true hunter - confident, proactive, resilient, and motivated to exceed your targets
  • You are skilled in territory management and thrive on being out on the road, building strong relationships, and growing market awareness - not sitting behind a desk waiting for leads to appear
