About the Role
We are looking for an energetic and empathetic Registered Nurse to work within Thames Hospital's Emergency Department. The successful applicant will ideally have experience in emergency care, although we are willing to train the right person. This is a fixed term position with rostered shifts covering 24 / 7, with the opportunity to pick up extra shifts if desired.

Thames Hospital is a secondary level hospital 100 kilometres north of Hamilton. It serves the Thames, Coromandel Peninsula, Hauraki and Paeroa areas. Thames Hospital has a 24 hour emergency department and covers the usual range of general surgery and general medicine. Thames Hospital is part of the Waikato District Health Board.
About Thames
Thames Hospital is a modern 50‑bed secondary care facility offering a comprehensive range of services, including an emergency department, inpatient care, day surgery, an infusion unit, rehabilitation services, birthing unit and low‑acuity mental health care. Our hospital boasts 24‑hour laboratory and radiology services, including advanced CT imaging. As an accredited training hub, we support 5th and 6th‑year medical students from Auckland University, PGY2 House Officers, and registrars in Rural Hospital Medicine and General and Acute Care Medicine. We offer a robust quality improvement program, CME opportunities, and an RMO teaching program. Telehealth is expanding at Thames, supporting inpatient care, outpatient clinics and emergency services like stroke thrombolysis.
