Join the Ministry of Defence as an Analyst supporting Ministerial Services, Governance, or Defence Assessment in Wellington.
Your Role
Here’s what you will be doing :
- In Ministerial and Executive Services : Communicate Defence agency work, respond to correspondence, parliamentary questions, and Official Information Act requests.
- In Governance and Assurance : Provide support, advice, and secretariat services to Defence Boards and Committees.
- In Defence Assessment : Support investigative, evidence-based evaluations, reviews, and assessments of the Ministry and NZDF.
- Work closely with Ministry leaders in defence policy, international engagement, and defence capability projects delivery.
About You
A degree or postgraduate degree in international relations, political science, defence or strategic studies, economics, law, or an analytical or equivalent discipline.Ability to plan, organise, and manage competing priorities to deadlines.Inquisitive mindset with readiness to suggest innovative solutions to practical problems.Interest in policy formulation and government processes.Ability to write and communicate complex ideas to a high standard.Capability to build trust and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.Familiarity with the defence sector is beneficial but not essential.Eligibility for employment requiring New Zealand citizenship for at least 10 years or current NZ Residency Class Visa with prior citizenship of UK, USA, Canada, or Australia for at least 10 years.Ability to pass a 10-year background check for security clearance.Compensation & Benefits
