Main duties of the job
Deliver emotional support, advice and guidance via face-to-face, telephone, and video.
Assess situations to determine risk and the needs of the person accessing support.
Make decisions under pressure while communicating with the person accessing support.
Accurately record new contacts and details of visits and calls on relevant electronic systems.
Work in line with performance targets and key contractual requirements, providing data and case studies as requested.
Advise and be actively involved in individual risk assessment and review.
Where identified, put an appropriate action plan / safety plan in place to meet the individual's needs.
Encourage those accessing support to recognise, understand and manage factors that affect their mental wellbeing and physical health.
Work with a range of partners and external agencies to meet individual's needs and support safety and delivery of the service.
Work as a team member, sharing information and supporting colleagues, ensuring they have the knowledge, information and resources to be successful in their roles and make a positive contribution to the service.
Communicate with external stakeholders as required.
Actively obtain relevant literature / resource materials from appropriate internal teams and external agencies to assist with support conversations and signposting.
Facilitate activities within the service and community, conduct administrative tasks, signpost and engage people in other provision.

Shifts : 5 x 5 hours per week, 6 pm - 11 pm shift
Salary : £25,958 - £28,662 pro rata
This is a fixed-term position for maternity cover.

As a Crisis Recovery Worker, you will be required to provide a high-quality, recovery-focused service to our clients who have a range of mental health and autistic traits as well as other support needs including learning disabilities, physical health issues and substance misuse, whilst promoting independence and social inclusion.
With experience of working within a community-based mental health setting, you should be able to inspire, engage and motivate people.
Your proven ability to identify barriers, understand needs and support people to achieve their goals will be key to the role.
You will work alongside Peer Support Workers (PSW) and Clinicians to achieve the best person-centred care with patients for their recovery, whether that be joint working with other services to support them to make reasonable adjustments or PSW so patients can learn and practice skills.
You will be part of a small team supporting people in a crisis drop-in centre.
We are a non-clinical service, providing support to reduce immediate distress to those at risk of self-harm, suicide or experiencing trauma.
Our service provides information, safety planning and signposting for clients, their families and carers to meet their holistic needs.
You will work closely with mental health primary and secondary care, emergency services and partner agencies.
About you
You will have experience of working with mental health and will be able to inspire and engage people and have the ability to identify barriers and understand client needs, while possessing excellent motivational skills.
This will one-to-one engagement, facilitating group-based activities, signposting and engaging people in mainstream provision.
You will have an understanding of working with people with a variety of complex needs including mental health, learning, physical and substance misuse would be an advantage for this post.
Your knowledge of working within a community-based service is essential and will have equipped you with the relevant communication and interpersonal skills required for the role.
Due to the nature of the post, a full driving licence and access to transport will be essential.
It is essential that you hold a Health and Social Care Level 2 or Level 3 and be willing to develop further as the role requires.

Qualifications
Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care, or equivalent subject, and be willing to complete an appropriate Level 3 qualification within 12 months of employment
Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, or equivalent subject
Experience
Have awareness of / lived experience and experience of working with people who have experienced mental health issues
Experience of record keeping
Experience of assessing needs of those with mental health needs
