Activities Assistant

This is why Bupa Te Whanau Care Home in Levin is searching for a permanent part-time Activities Assistant with a creative flair to join our community.In this role, you will be supporting the Activities Coordinator, identifying the leisure activity needs of each of the Sunset Care Home residents based on their interests, preferences, and abilities and contribute to the planning and implementation of individual and group activities programmes.

Hours & Roster Details

Employment Type : Permanent Part-Time

Hours : Average 21 hours per week

Shift Time :

am - 3.00pm

Roster Pattern : 4 days on, 2 days off (6-weekly roster across Monday - Sunday)

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Participate and contribute to both individual and group programme activities.

Contribute to the review and assessment of the residents\' individual activities programme.

Actively promote a homely, stimulating, and pleasant environment for the residents and their families.

Develop and maintain excellent internal and external communication networks to support the activities programme.

About You

An NZQA Certificate in Diversional Therapy Level is preferred.

Previous experience in a similar role within aged care is desirable.

Preferred experience with dementia care.

Display enthusiasm, empathy, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of residents.

Demonstrate outstanding communication skills.

A fun personality with a creative flair.

A clean, full driver's licence is preferable, as you may drive the van for resident outings.
