Key Responsibilities – Drainage Operator Jobs Dunedin

• Install and maintain drainage systems, pipes, culverts, and associated infrastructure with accuracy and professionalism.
• Operate excavation machinery and small plant relevant to drainage works, such as trenchers, pipe lasers, and compactors.
• Assist with site preparation, trench excavation, backfilling, and reinstatement works under supervision.
• Conduct daily pre-start safety checks and routine maintenance on tools and equipment.
• Interpret basic site drawings or instructions to ensure compliance with drainage plans and specifications.
• Work safely in trenches and confined spaces, following all relevant health and safety procedures and reporting hazards promptly.
• Support the wider civil construction team to deliver quality outcomes efficiently and professionally.
• Carry out general labouring and housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and organised worksite.
