Neutron will be our next rocket on the launch pad, an advanced 13-tonne payload class, reusable rocket to launch the mega constellations of the future. Our space systems business includes our extensive line of satellites and components that have enabled more than 1,700 missions including the James Webb Space Telescope, NASA Psyche Mission, Artemis I, Mars Ingenuity helicopter, and more.

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Avionics is responsible for facilitating and optimising production and launch vehicle system tests in a high-growth production environment. This role ensures that manufacturing principles are practiced to meet stringent launch timelines. The position involves close collaboration with engineers, technicians, and subject matter experts across various departments to enable the testing and operations of launch vehicles.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Use your technical knowledge to define standards of excellence and consistently identify the best solutions for engineering challenges.
  • Create, approve, and improve technical documents pertinent to your role and expertise.
  • Identify additional projects, set group / business priorities, and continuously deliver on-time, often exceeding initial goals.
  • Assess risks before they occur and implement measures to mitigate them, ensuring long-term effectiveness.
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives and coach others in effective problem resolution.
  • Identify engineering challenges and implement solutions to improve cost, quality, reliability, and delivery.
  • Develop personal strategic plans and contribute to technical department and business goals.
  • Effectively communicate with peers, subordinates, and superiors, ensuring meetings stay on track and convey technical information concisely.
  • Develop criteria for cross-training and improve training processes, capable of acting as a deputy for lead or manager when needed.
  • Demonstrate punctuality, adherence to company policies, and coach others on appropriate professional behaviour.
  • Maintain a positive and approachable demeanor, consistently demonstrating a "How can I help?" mentality.
  • View challenges as motivation and continually raise the standard of excellence.
  • Create presentations, metrics, and emails that highlight information concisely and steer the team towards impactful actions.
  • Be capable of cross-training and acting as a deputy for lead or manager, while adhering to company policies and standards.

  • Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly in avionics.
