Health Safety and Continuous Improvement Advisor

Andritz Hydro is a world leader in the supply of electrical and mechanical renewable energy equipment to the hydro power industry. Our company headquarters are based in Austria, with the Christchurch office providing services to power generation customers across NZ and the South Pacific region.

We work on all things hydro, from small jobs to large hydro power station projects over several years. This role will be primarily based at the Maraetai Power Station but travel to our head office and other sites will be required. Maraetai Power Station is located around 45 minutes from Taupo, or 30 minutes from Tokoroa.

We have talented and safety aware staff on our sites, but we need that extra safety expert with an improvement mindset to help guide and support the team.

As a largely untapped area of work for us, continuous improvement will be a focus for this role. We don’t need you to have all the answers, but we need you to help instill a continuous improvement culture within our team, enabling everyone to bring about improvements.

To succeed in this role, you don’t necessarily need years of experience, but you do need exceptional relationship building skills. Experience within a construction or engineering environment would be beneficial.

Role Responsibilities

• Bringing continuous improvement ideas from the team to tangible outcomes
• Driving a H&S and continuous improvement culture
• Managing hazards and risks
• Assisting with inspections, audits, reporting and investigations
• Training management, including running H&S and continuous improvement training sessions

If you hold H&S or improvement qualifications this is great, but we will provide the necessary training to ensure you succeed in this role. There is an element of data management in this role as well as multiple systems to get your head around - confidence with data and computer systems is a must.

This is a permanent full time (40 hours per week) role. There is flexibility over the days and times of work to suit your lifestyle.
