We are seeking a Kaiako to deliver our
Te Ronakitanga ki te reo Kairangi Level 5
programme, which involves but is not limited to : developing lesson plans, presenting material to tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating tauira progress.
You will be responsible for recruiting and inducting tauira, implementing effective teaching and assessment strategies, monitoring academic progress, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with TWoA and NZQA requirements.
Creating a collaborative, inclusive and culturally grounded learning environment will be essential to the success of this role.
This is a
Permanent, Full-time
(37.5 hours per week) position, based out of the Mangere campus.
Some flexibility will be required to work some weekends and evenings (for noho and night classes only).
You will be a confident Kaiako that brings energy and creativity that shines through in your delivery.
Te Ronakitanga ki te reo Kairangi is a Reo Rumaki (Total Immersion) programme, so you will need to be proficient in te reo Maori and be able to show evidence of delivering and teaching te reo Maori to adult learners.
Ideally, you will have :
Diploma (Level 6) or higher in te reo Maori, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent, or be willing to complete during the first year of employment.
Full and current NZ Driver Licence (Class 1).
Experience teaching full immersion te reo Maori.
Experience teaching adults.
Asa kaupapa Maori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Ahuatanga Maori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
