Senior Product Designer

Federato is on a mission to defend the right to efficient, equitable insurance for all. We enable insurers to provide affordable coverage to people and organizations facing today’s issues — the climate crisis, cyber-attacks, social inflation, etc. Our AI / ML‑driven platform uses deep reinforcement learning to help insurance companies optimize risk portfolios and provide fair pricing in difficult-to-price areas. Our category‑defining RiskOps solution surfaces real‑time risk and portfolio insights and helps underwriters meet their goals while serving society.

The Product Design Team Imagine stepping into an industry as old as insurance and redefining how it works from the ground up. Federato designs software that feels like a secret weapon for underwriters. Our designers and researchers tackle intricate, high‑stakes problems with speed and craft. Armed with AI, we’re modernizing insurance and leaving a lasting mark on an industry that directly shapes people’s lives.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead the design and problem solving for net‑new product experiences and feature improvements across our platform
• Partner with a team of seasoned designers to strengthen solutions, optimize processes, and learn new patterns (e.g., run / build time AI applications, prompt design)
• Pivot gracefully between high‑level thinking and hands‑on delivery as conditions evolve, balancing flexibility with quality
• Collaborate deeply with product managers, engineers, researchers, and team leads in in‑person workshops to tackle complex user problems
• Rapidly produce and iterate prototypes and mockups to engage your team and validate ideas
• Continuously raise the bar for design and process by giving feedback and suggesting strong alternatives

Who We Hope You Are

Compensation

$160,000 - $190,000 a year. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate location, experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above. Total compensation package includes stock options, bonus, benefits and additional perks.
