Job description

Work with community groups, schools, landowners, and mana whenua to co-develop and implement kauri protection plans.
Collaborate with stakeholders to provide advice and guidance that supports effective kauri protection outcomes across the Waikato.
Drive advocacy and education opportunities for kauri protection across the region.
Manage projects and contribute to programme planning and reporting.
Undertake fieldwork as required such as including soil sampling, and disease surveillance.
A self-starter who is motivated and capable of working independently.
Passionate about the environment and an advocate for Aotearoa’s taonga species.
A confident communicator who can build relationships, influence behaviour, and motivate a broad range of audiences.
Previous experience working in biodiversity, biosecurity, conservation management would be ideal.
A relevant tertiary qualification in biosecurity, ecology, environmental science, or a related field.
At least 5 years’ relevant experience.
Full NZ driver’s licence.
