Mercury is a bold future-focused organisation, providing energy and telecommunications to more Kiwis than anyone else, leading the way with renewable energy and working toward a sustainable future. At the heart is our purpose. Taking care of tomorrow : connecting people and place today. This pushes us to do all we can to create a better future for our people, our communities, and Aotearoa New Zealand.
Are you ready to help shape the future of renewable energy in Aotearoa?
Start your career in Mercury as a Graduate Reservoir Engineer and be part of a team driving the sustainable use of geothermal energy—one of New Zealand’s most valuable natural resources. In this role, you’ll contribute to the performance and longevity of our geothermal reservoirs, helping deliver firm, affordable, and low‑carbon electricity to the national grid.
As the electricity sector faces growing demand for renewable capacity and resilience, your work will support Mercury’s mission to provide reliable energy while protecting the environment. You’ll be guided by experienced engineers and immersed in real-world geothermal operations, gaining hands‑on experience in reservoir modelling, field surveillance, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
This is more than just a graduate role — it’s a chance to make a meaningful impact on the energy transition and help power New Zealand’s future.
